Elephant Retirement Park is a very popular elephant camp in Chiang Mai. As the name suggest, it is home to retired-from-work elephants, and also rescued elephants.
Like many other elephant camps, Elephant Retirement Park has a policy of no riding, chaining, and beating of their elephants and all of their elephants are very well taken care of.
These elephants live in a natural environment in their elephant family group and, on a normal day, are allowed to roam freely.
Elephant Retirement Park is located at Mae Taeng, which is a 40-minute driving distance from Chiang Mai city. But they have a booking office at Chiang Mai city, located at Kotchasarn Rd, merely 10-minute walking distance from Tha Phae Gate.
